Currently we do not have good test application for AudioClip. As a result AudioClip is not getting tested well during development. Recently we got two AudioClip bugs JDK-8363890 and JDK-8357714.

FXMediaPlayer already provides support for all protocols, so it will be convenient to integrate AudioClip testing to FXMediaPlayer and perform such testing during development.
