Many of the older DecimalFormatSymbols serialization test rely on manual files, specific JDK versions, and are unclear as to what is being tested. These should be revisited to determine if they are simply noise at this state.
Cleaning up the DFS serialization tests can include the DF and NF ones as well. The scope is intentionally limited there.
