A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
As per JDK-8370572 (https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-8370572) there was an issue starting in JDK 21.0.9 where hierarchical mem limits in CGROUP v1 are no longer handled. This issue was solved in the main line of development but it has not been backported to jdk21 (except for Amazon Corretto).
Could you please backport the fix to JDK21?
