The JFR Launch Configuration plugin has a problem with templates, it's possible to use it to start a recording with all the default settings, but as soon as you change one setting you cannot save the configuration until you've selected a template. But the template manager is empty, because it's offline. So the user has to either find and import a template, or start a JVM normally and use JMC to export / import a template first.
