Even if a flight recording is started at a certain time, it can contain events with a start time even earlier in time. When the recording is visualized in JMC, a decision has to be made: do you visualize the time from the first event, or do you visualize the time from the start of the recording?

If you start the time from the start time of the first event, all events can be visualized and included. If not, you need to drop the events that are before the start time.

Since both these alternatives can be confusing for the user, we can improve how we inform users about the situation. We need to think about how this information can be presented in an easy to understand way.
