Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a flight recording and go to the Event Browser page.
2. Select "Environment" in the event tree.
3. In the context menu, select "Store and set as focused selection". All other events should be removed now, only Environment events remain.
4. Go to the page JVM Internals/VM Operations. Notice that the table is still populated with VM Operations events. They should not be there if the selection tool is in charge, but apparently it is ignored.

Some pages ignore the selection tool (e.g. System Properties), but then they don't display the selection tool.

This is perhaps not a super important fix, but it undermines the authority of the tool, and makes it harder for the user to under who things fit together.
