If you produce a json report from the rule results, you will not get any error message if an exception is thrown when producing the rule result. In the base xml format, you have an error node within the rule result.

The file /Volumes/jfrscorerecordings/11/414.jpams1.jfr did produce such an error before JMC was fixed in change 174134.
