Symantec JIT causes core dump on Double-Byte Win95/NT

XMLWordPrintable

    • 1.2beta4
    • generic, x86
    • generic, windows_95, windows_nt
    • Verified

      JDK version: JDK 1.2beta3-N
      Platform : Win95
      Locales : ja, zh, zh_TW

      To reproduce :
      javac -J-Djava.compiler=symcjit MyApp.java (or)
      appletviewer -J-Djava.compiler=symcjit MyApplet.html (or)
      java -Djava.compiler=symcjit MyApp

Any of above command dumps core on Win95

Current JDK1.2beta4C has symcjit enabled as default which causes significant
problem if locale is Japanese. This bug should be fixed by next release.

In zh locale, win95 and NT, JDK 1.2beta4-D,E,F also have jit problem, that is,
when we install these builds in Chinese win95 or NT, all java programs can
not work. If we set JAVA_COMPILER=NONE, java can work normally.
      Please check this problem.
