#4253376 is closed, working as designed- not a bug. Correct resolution with
1.2.2 is to de-select the JRE checkbox in the dialog. (Which I also note,
has a scroll bar extending downwards and doesn't show the JRE choice until
scrolled, many Developers and Testers in my company weren't even aware that
      the JRE choice was there).

My issue that the 1.3.0 RC2 installer *has no JRE checkbox* in the dialog
panel (and no scrollbar to reach what isn't there). Still not a biggie,
because removal via 'add/remove' and cleanup of the directories is pretty
straightforward. But this is a loss of functionality in the installer.

Installation provides checkboxes for including excluding Native Headers, old
Headers, demos, (etc.) in the same manner as previous installers. However,
there is no checkbox to prevent installation of an (additional) JRE with
      C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE.

This wastes a small amount of disk space. But much more important: It causes
difficulties for developers who need to test against a variety of JRE versions
      and Releases.

BTW, it would be very nice if I could choose the location of a JRE, so I didn't
have Netscape stomping on SunSoft and visa versa.

      1. Run j2sdk1_3_0-win.exe
      2. press next
      3. press 'y' to answer license agreement
      4. select some other drive other than c: for the '\jdk1.3' directory
      5. press next
      6. press next

Program will install jdk to selected location, but will install jre to
      c:\program files\javasoft\jre directory.

Installer either needs to install to the same drive as the jdk or
installer should ask where to install the jre (drive location).
