      java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1-b24)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1-b24, mixed mode)

During JDK 1.3.1 Standard Edition the installation program installs
this version runtime environment (JRE) without asking you if you
want to install and even without asking WHERE (!) to install.

      1. All programs in BIN and classes in LIBs except for Java plug in
are already installed in the JDK 1.3.1 home, so this staff is redundant.

      2. We do not have an option to select a location for JRE.
It goes to the "C" drive which is not desirable in many
         occasions.

The installation program should be modified such a way that we can
select to install or not install JRE and to select Java plug in
separately. Besides it should give a choice where to install.

If I uninstall JRE all my program works!!! Not to mention it is not desirable
to place about 18 MB on the C hard drive without asking.
