The quarity of rasterizer with jdk1.4 is worse than jdk1.3 on solaris.
Therefore, the specific fonts are not displayed correctly with
Serif and MonoSpaced and DialogInput and font 16 point size.
That fonts looks like the other japanese characters.
Reproduce to:
1, Launch Font2DTest in JDK demo.
2, Select "Serif" or "MonoSpaced" or "DialogInput" in "Font".
3, Select "other.." in "Unicode Range".
4, Input "5e79" into "Unicode Base" input area.
and "5f1f" "5f21" "5eab" are also looks like malformed character.
I attached the file jdk1.3.gif and jdk1.4.gif, this file is the scene above.
Please compare.
--------------------------------------------------
I tested with the latest merlin beta-b52,
The characters rendered as same as before.
Please compare jdk1.3.gif with jdk1.4-b52.gif.
It is especially "5ef0" "5ef1" "5ef3".
It could not to be judged what form a character.
