The bug is reproducible on Merlin build 51 and prior.
Run Font2DTest, select Windings font on Win32 or Zapfdingbats on
Solaris. Select 'All Glyphs' in 'Text To use'.
On solaris almost all glyphs are rendered out of the grid (to the right of
the cells).
On Win32 only some of the glyphs (mostly arrows) are off (to the bottom of their
cells), but they are so off they are almost entirely on their neighbours
territory.
