generic, solaris_8
Affected locales: ko, zh, zh_TW (possibly other locales too)
Affected JDK versions: 1.3.0_01, 1.3.0_02, 1.4, 1.4.1
Description: "Save..." button in Print dialog does not display the whole localized string.
Steps to reproduce:
- install base + localized packages (SUNWlj3rt, SUNWlj3dv) for 1.3.0_02.
- run appletviewer (run a demo, for example) in Asian locale.
- from the menu select "Print", a print dialog appears.
- select Print To: "file", notice the "Print" button becomes "Save..." button.
- This "Save..." button should display 2 asian characters followed by "...". It displays the first character, then followed by "..." (3 dots).
Possible solutions:
- make this button's width scalable so that localized text will fit.
- remove the 3 dots "..." from translated string. It has been tested in ko locale that with only 2 characters, they will fit this button. But has not been tested in other Asian (or Euro) locales.
