The performance of 1.3.1_02 against 1.3.1fcs using J2DBench is also poor on some platforms.

      Sparc 2.6 :
About the same in most places but a few operations have degraded significantly.
Offscreen opague image and ICM8 opaque images have a degragation in the order of
      ~ 35%.

      Sparc 2.8

While some operations have vastly improved , e.g. Grey Bitmask image with BG
without scaling +1550% , a few have degraded considerably. Some xBGR operations
      were very poor. xBGR Translucent image without Scaling : 1773 V 10423 ( a
degradation of about 82% (8.2 times slower) )

      IA 2.6 -

      Pretty constant +/- 2 % on average.

      Linux 6.2

      Again , very constant +/- 2%

      Win 98SE

Pretty constant except for a few severe degradations (some by as much as 75%)
e.g. Off screen opague image without scaling ( - 75 %), ARGB translucent image
      scaled, others...

      XP_pro

Very poor - severe degradation. (esp. Grey Bitmask & ICM8)

      Nt SP6 - Pass
      Xp-home - Pass
