Sun translates the J2RE user interface to a limited number
of languages, currently 10 - see

There have been numerous requests for localization into other languages,
such as Catalan, Czech, or Farsi. In many cases these requests came with
offers for help, since the requestors are capable of handling the
translation and just want to enable their customers to use Java-based
applications in their own languages.

Sun should consider providing a simple localization kit with each
release, which would include the original commented resource bundles as
well as documentation on how to install translated resource bundles.

Since resource bundles change from release to release, there should be
no expectation of compatibility for translated resource bundles.

This feature would be complementary to RFE 4052440, which requests
pluggable locale support for functionality in java.text and java.util.
