OS : Windows (Generic)

Steps to Reproduce :

1.) Install J2RE on the target machine
2.) Lauch the JPI Control Panel
3.) Go to the Browser tab
4.) Now Disable the IE browser check box

Result :

It would throw the following error dialog box eventhough you have enough permissions to change the default settings

5.) Now try the same with Netscape browser , It works fine
