When install jre 1.4.1.01, after click yes on the agreement window, we got a window show the installation status.
There is a Chinese string in the third line, it should contain four chars. Means "is installing". But now we can only see three chars.
Same error when we uninstall the jre.
The jre is download on http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/download.html with jre for all languages on windows. We tested it on Windows 2000.
