This is reproducible on Solaris 10 JDS system, from mustang b57.
Run the regression testcase java\awt\Modal\ModalDialogComeToFrontTest test as 'appletviewer -Xnosecurity ModalDialogComeToFrontTest.html'
The testcase instructs to click the start button. On clicking the start button, it shows two frames and a modal dialog. The task bar shows window icon for the applet window before the frames and modal dialog comes up. Once the modal dialig is shown, all icons disappear from the taskbar. Even though there are five windows shown up by the testcase, no task bar icon is shown.
