There are various system settings whose defaults are platform-dependent (which jvm, an assortment of memory sizes, etc.). It can be difficult for manpages to stay in sync with changes in the implementation while accurately capturing all the complexities of the settings across different platforms. Therefore, it would be helpful if the java command provide a "-XprintDefaults" to provide the settings for the particular jvm being run.
