Create a java app with a text field (see TextTest.java attachment). On a Sun Ray, run the java app. Enter some characters such as #*%().
Unplug your keyboard and plug in another keyboard with a different layout (such as Danish, UK, German, etc.). Enter the same characters. They will not map correctly and will show different characters.
On a gnome-terminal or a dtterm, this works correctly.
