The current default is to notify the end user before downloading the Java update. When the user goes to install the update, they must wait for the rest of the patch to download during the install process. This is not the best user experience possible. We request changing the default so that the Java update file(s) are downloaded before the user is notified to run the updater.
The benefit here is that the next time the user is asked to update Java, they will be more likely to do it if they know it is very quick and easy. It also reduces the steps of the install, since the user does not have to wait for the installer files to update after they click the Install button on the installer Welcome panel.
