      FULL PRODUCT VERSION :

      ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
      Windows Professional 8.1

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
YOUR INSTALLER CHANGES THE USER'S BROWSER SETTINGS BY DEFAULT.

If one of your users wants the ASK tool bar to be installed, they should have to manually intervene and tick the box, not the other way around. Sneaking changes that are completely unrelated to your software (for what I can only assume is your own financial gain) into an install such as this is underhand to say the least and in my opinion is plain dishonest.

THIS BEHAVIOR IS A DEFECT. FIX IT PLEASE.

REGRESSION. Last worked in version 6u43

      ADDITIONAL REGRESSION INFORMATION:
Your installers never used to attempt to install unwanted software which is unrelated to Java. Please return it to this state.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
      Install or update Java.

      EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
      EXPECTED -
I do not expect to have to un-tick a checkbox to prevent the ASK toolbar from being installed and my home page changed.
      ACTUAL -
Unless the tick box is cleared, the ASK toolbar is installed and my home page changed.

      REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

      CUSTOMER SUBMITTED WORKAROUND :
Realise that Oracle are trying to hoodwink you into installing worthless software and changing your home page and either un-tick the box or just don't install Java.
