This could be an old problem and it's still reproducible with 8u40 b11.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Run HelloColorPicker, open palette popup, click "Custom Color..."
2. On "Custom Colors" dialog, press Tab untill focus reaches the textfield besides the Hue slider
3. Try to type a new number to change the value

There is no respond, the value can't be changed.
