XMLWordPrintable

      ADDITIONAL SYSTEM INFORMATION :
      OS: Windows 10/11
      Keyboard Layout: United States (Standard)
Tested Versions: 8u312 (Working), 8u322 (Broken), 8u472 (Broken)

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
Description: After upgrading from OpenJDK 8u312 to 8u322 (and all subsequent versions up to 8u472), the Right Alt key no longer behaves as a standard VK_MENU. In Java AWT applications (e.g., IntelliJ IDEA), pressing Right Alt is captured as Alt + Alt Graph.

Impact: This breaks critical productivity shortcuts in IDEs, specifically Alt + Enter in IntelliJ IDEA when using the Right Alt key.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
      Steps to Reproduce:

Run a Java AWT/Swing application on Windows (Standard US Keyboard Layout).

Capture KeyEvents for the Right Alt key.

          Observe the key codes.
