        Twitter plug-in for JMC is based off 3rd party library Twitter4J (https://github.com/Twitter4J/Twitter4J)
        Twitter4J is not actively maintained, last commit happened was 3 years back.

        There are couple of options, best is to use Twitter REST APIs directly with minimal or no use of 3rd party libraries.
