I just tried to install the J2SE RE 1.3.1 RC1 for Windows in the international
version on my German version of Windows 2000. The installer complains about a missing
file "_setup.dll" and can't install the RE.

With the J2SE RE 1.3.1 RC1 for Window, US english, it works fine.

I got it via ftp from java.sun.com. I've choosen
the first download option on the download page.

Just to indicate, that the download was fine:
the file I downloaded has the described size
and the installer can extract its files.
After the self extract it complains.

The international version of the J2SE RE 1.3.0_02 unpacks,
installs, and runs fine on German Windows 2000 and ME.

Starting the installation process running j2sdk-1_3_1-rc2-win.exe the JDK gets properly installed but when the JRE installation just starts it fails with the following popup dialog:

"Setup Initialization Error
Setup is unable to find _setup.dll, which is needed to complete the installation
Error 103"

Finally you get the jdk 1.3.1 rc2 installed but the jre + plugin not.

Install the sdk 1.3.1 rc2.
Immediately after the beginning of the setting up Java Runtime Environment, an
alert message said :

"Setup Inialization Error.
Setup is unable to find _SETUP.DLL, which is needed to complete the installation.
Error 103"
