Tested on:
Linux RedHat 6.2 de, fr, es

Problem : Demo apps fail to load:

when the download of the SwingSet app failed :the error message said :
"application reqested a version of the JRE not currently installed. error accessing.... j2se, 1.3."
With the Notepad error it was "(1.3_1.2)". The version of JRE installed on the machine is 1.3_1-rc1. The JRE version numbers seem to be hardcoded into the <resources> section of each apps launch file allowing it to ignore the local version.
This does not happen with any windows version - (automatically installs JRE1.3.1) or when JRE 1.2.2_07 is installed for the first three apps.


Also : In Solaris 5.8 sparc (all locales) whre the JRE is 1.2.1_04c (j2se)
Draw/Notepad will display fine under this version of Java, Miltary Game just does nothing and the swingSet2 Demo fails with the following message :
Error message as follows:
swingSet2 Demo kann nicht gestartest werden
If you go to the details for the error message.
Listener null is not of type interface java.awt.event.ActionListener


In the same system with 1.4.0 (J2SDK1.4.0)



Everything loaded except swingset2 Demo showing
"Impossible de lancer swingset2 Demo, Erreur de telechargement"

With 1.3.0 (j2sdk1_3_0)
The following error was displayed for SwingSet2/Notepad/Draw/Military options:

Netscape: Unterproze - Diagnose(stdout/stderr) [TOOLBAR]
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError.exception occured in JNI_Onload

For application manager:
Exception in thread "main"java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError.exception occured in
JNI_OnLoad
