Users are unable to select/unselect the next-generation Java Plug-in from Java control panel. The error message is incorrect and misleading.
Tested Build: jre 7- b66 (promoted build)
OS: x86- Vista, Windows 7, XP
Steps to reproduce:
------------------
1) On the test system, make sure you don't have any browser session open/running.
2) Install promoted jre 7- b66.
3) Invoke Java control Panel and click 'Advanced' tab.
4) Try to enable the next-generation Java Plug-in option.
If you encounter "... Error- Java Plug-in - Unable to change Java Plug-in settings..."
then the issue is reproducible.
In fact, the error message is incorrect (as there is no browser is running on the system as checked in step #1 above):
"The next-generation Java Plug-in option cannot be changed at this time because one or more browsers are running. Please close all browser windows >before changing the next-generation Java Plug-in option"
