B142 should contain all of the code changes for the first consolidation of the JDK7 and JDk6 pacakges into Solaris. In order to complete this the following steps are to be completed. We have been unable to find out how long it typically takes to complete the steps below from the IPS Consolidation Process document.
Transition process
Convert your consolidation per the steps above using a known baseline
* I think I have completed the steps this is referring to and asked questions on this and the pkg-discuss alias
Compare (using pkgdiff(1)) that your deliveries do not deviate from the current OpenSolaris/Solaris baseline. Any differences should be scrutinized and potentially discussed with the release lead and the IPS distribution team.
* Do I need to do this? If the answer is yes what do I compare two since it is not a one to one comparison
* Who is the release lead?
* Is the entity "IPS distribution team" the same as the IPS Engineering team?
Work with the IPS distribution team to do a test run and get a review. You can usually do a test run yourself by modifying src/util/distro-import/Makefile in the IPS gate to add new CONSOLIDATION_OPTIONS values for your consolidation. Contact the IPS team if you need help.
* I think I have completed a review
* Where is the gate and how do you access it?
* What do I do after I build it, run make. Where do I run make at the root.
* How do I test what is produced? Does someone else test it?
Coordinate final delivery with RE and the IPS distribution team so that your packages are no longer expected to be built by the IPS importer.py command.
* I am not using any importer.py command, is this command what is used in Step 3?
Obsolete the old SVR4 packages by using RE's pkgobs command
* I am going to include what was previously included for SUNW and in addition obsolete the jdk6 IPS package on Solaris 11 151a
